What you have to prove

All of it, with documents. There are no exceptions and the fee does not change the answer.

• Current public liability insurance covering surf instruction
• In-date instruction qualifications for every instructor who teaches
• Current first-aid certification on site at every session
• Registered business and permission to operate on the beaches you use
• A firm cap on students per instructor in beginner lessons

• Paying does not get you listed if you fail a requirement
• There is no way to buy a better position or a second listing
• Listings are removed mid-year if standards slip, with no refund

The offer

• One school per zone. Exclusive, for the whole year.
• Every booking arrives with a deposit already paid, so far fewer no-shows than an email enquiry.
• All customer details go straight to you. You keep the customer relationship, and we never charge commission on their future direct bookings.
• The Best Surf badge for your own website and social media.

How that compares

The honest version: the big platforms send volume, take a much bigger cut, and the customer belongs to them. Best Surf sends fewer bookings, takes less, and hands you the customer permanently.

What you commit to

• Confirm or decline a booking within 48 hours. Repeated non-response is grounds for losing the zone, with no refund of the fee.
• Place the Best Surf badge on your own website, linking to your Best Surf zone page.
• Keep insurance, licence and instructor certifications valid, and tell us immediately if any lapse.
• Keep your listed prices current, and honour the listed price for any booking made through Best Surf.

The terms, in plain English

• Commission is charged on the list price of the booking, before any discount you apply afterwards.
• The deposit paid on Best Surf equals the commission and is deducted from what the customer owes you. You collect the balance directly, and the customer never pays more than your list price.
• Commission applies to a customer's first booking made through Best Surf, never to their future direct bookings with you.
• If a booking is cancelled in window or you decline it, the deposit is refunded in full and no commission is charged.
• If the customer does not show up, the deposit is kept and the commission is treated as earned.
• Bookings left unanswered after 48 hours are released and the customer is told.
• Grounds for removal of the badge: lapsed insurance or licence, a Google rating falling below the threshold, or an upheld safety complaint.
• Best Surf never bids on or targets your brand name in search. Your name never appears in a zone page title or heading.
• The €150 fee is annual and non-refundable, except where Best Surf removes your school for reasons outside your control.
